Finally two professors are coming to Shaw Photo Day. It's really our honour to have the chance to take photos with them. They are very important persons in my three years of undergraduate studies. I enjoy their classes much, that's why I invited them to come. I know the photos must be very memorable.
When I was thinking if I should reply to X in this way, 'thank you very much, but could you stay for a bit longer as we want to take individual photos with you.' Then Tina imitated the response, 'Maggie, you ask for too much.' *with a falling tone.
It's always funny to think of others' response, maybe discourse analysis does help us. |
